Achieve Radiant Skin with Dry Brushing: Your Ultimate Guide

Achieve Radiant Skin with Dry Brushing: Ultimate Guide

If your main skin goal is to GLOW, then listen up because dry brushing could be your new best friend. Dry brushing, although not a new concept, has been getting a lot of hype recently and for good reason. With regular use this ancient self care ritual energises your skin, leaving it feeling silky smooth and noticeably more glowy. If you’re not sure where to start, here are our tips to perfecting the ultimate dry brushing routine;

  1. Get yourself a good quality dry brush

It is important to note that the goal with dry brushing is to gently energise and exfoliate the skin and not cause any damage or skin abrasions. When selecting the perfect dry brush, we recommend choosing a brush with soft to medium bristles to avoid scratching or damaging your skin.

  1. Master the technique

We get it, dry brushing can seem a little intimidating at first. But once you’ve mastered the technique, the practice becomes second nature. Dry brushing should feel like a gentle exfoliation and can leave your skin a little pink which is completely normal. Dry brushing should never, however, leave your skin feeling sore, raw or broken.

With soft to medium pressure, brush directly against dry skin in sweeping motions toward your heart. Some people like to start at the legs, work up towards the torso and finish on the arms while others like to do the reverse. Do whatever order works best for you.

Try to dedicate between 3-5 minutes for this self care ritual. Put on your favourite playlist or podcast and get brushing.

  1. Dry brush before your sauna session

Supercharge this self care ritual by brushing right before your far-infrared sauna session. This will help to activate your lymphatic system and open up your pores prior to heat therapy. Make sure to shower directly after your sauna session to get rid of the sweat and dead skin.

  1. Apply lightweight moisturiser or body oil

Once you’ve showered it’s time to lock in moisture and rehydrate your skin post dry brush and sauna. We recommend using a light weight body moisturiser or oil. Say hello to silky smooth and ultra hydrated skin (you’re welcome)

  1. Repeat

For optimum results we recommend repeating this process once or twice a week as part of your self care routine.
